Report Tab

Video Tutorial

This is the tutorial for the report tab. Click image to enlarge:

  • Specify report options, the click "Report".

  • Generate report with figures, tables, and design checks with global stability for each staging cut, if desired.

  • After clicking "Report", wait for the report to show in your web browser. Do not click or interact with the program until the report is complete.

  • The program will automatically move to different tabs to collect images for the report.

  • The report will show up in your browser when complete.

  • To copy to MS-Word, click in the report, type <ctrl-a> to select all, then paste into Word.

Here are some suggestions for tracking down a problem with generating the report.

First, load one of the example projects that came with the installation, go to the Report tab, and click the Report button. If that can generate a report,

then the problem could be caused by an invalid input.

If this doesn't generate a report, open Windows File Explorer see if you can find the file "Pkg_SNAP_2013_Report/Report.html" in the example

project folder. Double-click the file and see if it opens in your browser. Otherwise, right-click the file and select "Open with...", then select MS Word,

or a different browser and see if that works.

If you can't locate this file, make sure you are looking in the correct location. You may have installed the SNAP program in a different location.

You can try to locate the SNAP_2013.exe file location by right-clicking the SNAP_2013 shortcut on your desktop (if that is how you launch the program),

select Properties, then check the folder shown in the Shortcut->Target box. Search for the report file in the project directory in that location.

If the example project works, but your project is not generating a report, then try this:

In the Report tab, only select "Static" and no other options, then click the "Report" button at the bottom to generate a report.

If that doesn't work, try checking the Facing tab and Support tab for error or warning symbols in the design checks. Perhaps a zero was entered for

the steel yield strength, there is an entry problem with the wall construction number or construction sequence, or there is some other wrong input that

is causing the problem.

You could try to load an example project, save it as a different name, and then make small changes, frequently checking if you can generate a report,

until you discover what change is causing the report not to generate in your project.
